healing wounds and uncovering dreams slept on.
I dance through markets with a gypsy
whispering mysteries, touching hidden sore places.
-you are a part of my awakening-
I imagine our ancestors share smiles.
Searching through the wares for goods,
we stop at each booth...
"Penny for your thoughts, mister?
I'll tell you your future."
Good fortune tellers....
Good deeds
and good love for free.
Free...
I am freeing,
breaking generational hexes and leaning
into sight and unseeing.
I watch you mend and knead pain into hieroglyphics and whispers poured into tinctures while dreaming.
Tears into joy we're drinking.
I'm tipsy and dancing through markets with a gypsy,
living impossibility and breathing easy.

About Canessa Thomas
Canessa Thomas, a Georgia native, is a self-taught artist, photographer, published author and poet. Her first book of poetry, The Strongest Element: Love Survival, was published Dec. 10, 2007. She has a passion for digital art, collage, mixed media, and photography. Her photography has been exhibited at the Palazzo CĂ Zanardi - Venice, Italy (June 14th-16th, 2019); Blank Wall Gallery - Athens, Greece (July 12th- 14th, 2019) and Qlick Gallery-Amsterdam, Netherlands (July 29th - August 23, 2019). Canessa is also an avid hiker and adventurer who loves nature and the night sky.
